| Middlebrook has introduced a new traffic scheme to help direct shoppers with ease around the 200 acre retail development.
The new road system uses colour coding to instruct traffic to different locations on the park. An orange route steers shoppers towards the DIY and home interest stores, a green route depicts the busy department stores, and a blue route signifies the leisure retailers – including Hollywood Bowl and the Vue cinema. These coloured zones will be in place within the car parks before the Christmas period.
To facilitate the flow of traffic in these newly created zones, a road next to Focus has been opened to offer a two way entrance and exit for shoppers visiting the orange zone.
In addition, traffic visiting from the M61 motorway will be directed along a new route, Aspinall Way, round the back of Focus and KIA. Traffic from Horwich will be encouraged to enter at the top of the park, behind Tesco and Asda.
Signage for shoppers to follow of the new scheme is already in place on Mansell Way and Burnden Way. Further signage will be erected round the park in the near future.

Traffic management staff will be in place at weekends and match days to advise shoppers, although their primary focus will be to provide direction to free parking spaces.
